In Coloured canaries: lipochrome with stain (on feathers, beak,legs, feet or claws). In Coloured canaries: melanin with white feather In Coloured canaries: Black melanin with white claw. In Coloured canaries: bird with double factor (ex.: opal +pastel) Any other situation not considered above will be studied with a responsible person of the exhibition. Furthermore the wrong size of the ring, a dirty bird or cage, as well as characters on the cage are reasons for an exclusion.

           Standard Description of the Belgian Canary Position In the working/show position the bird extends its neck forward, pulls itself slightly on its legs and raises its shoulders, adopting the shape of the figure “7”. The head should not be visible when viewed from behind. The back forms a straight line with the tail. The legs should be slightly angled. Shape Breast: long and broad, triangular in shape, when viewed from back and side. Back: full, broad without being too hollow nor round. Shoulders: broad and high Wings: long, close fitting to the body. Head Small and oval. Neck Long and slim. Plumage Smooth-feathered. All colours are allowed except red. Size 17 - 18 cm Legs Long, slightly angled, well feathered. Thighs well set into the body. Tail Long, straight and narrow. The tail and back form one straight line. .
