Safe Nuts for Parrots

Question: What kind of nuts are recommended for parrots?

The following varieties of nuts are recommended: Walnut, Almond, Pine Nut, Pecan, Brazil Nut, Cashew, Pistachio, Hazlenut and also Macadamia. The high fat content is to be considered for Macadamia. Peanuts are often infested with mycotoxin or aflatoxin, an fungal toxin. Toxin is an antigenic poison produced by microorganisms and causing disease (Aspergillosis) when only present at low concentration in the body.
